So your IPhone is not getting Exchange email after setting up your account and it verifying the account during the setup?
Here is what may be going on.
The ‘Cannot Get Mail. The connection to the server failed’ error may be the cause of a simple mis-configuration in the Microsoft Active Directory services for that user. To see if it is this issue you will need to open the Active Directory Users and Computers, Select the VIEW menu from the top and click on “Advanced Features”. Now open the properties on the user having the issue and select the “Security” tab. Under this tab will be windows with user accounts listed and a “Advanced button” at the bottom. Select this button and find the check box “Include Inheritable permissions from this object’s parent” . If this is the problem you will find the box “unchecked”. Just check the box and try again. You should see mail start to flow.

Another reason this can happen: ActiveSync policy requires phone to have a password. iPhone should display a message indicating this policy, but sometimes it flashes up too fast to see what it says.

Iphone email got the below message:
OWA and outlook worked fine. 1 of 2 things resolved:
1. I logged into OWA. Chose Options > Selected Mobile Phones > Clicked the old phones in the list on the right and clicked the message “Remove Device from List…”
2. Opened his Exchange properties. Went to Mailbox Features > Clicked Exchange ActiveSync > Disabled. Applied, then hit enable.

Another solution is to check and see how many phones you have connected to the account. The max per email account is ten. If you go into the Exchange Management Console | Right Click on Phone | Manage Mobile Phone and check to see if there are any devices you can remove, remove them from the list. More likely than not, you have ten devices listed there. Remove the old ones and emails should start arriving since you can now connect.
The inheritable permissions is also a great place to look.

I found some interesting events in the event viewer. The permissions fix originally worked for me, but then I had users that it didn’t work for, including the owner. Eventually, the issue was an “exchangeActivesyncDevices” folder under the users entry in AD. In the folder you’ll see the devices that are associated with the user. Delete the folder and mail will flow.
I noticed it also asked me to put the Security pin on my phone. Once I put the pin in. Next put it in a second time and, poof mail started flowing.

This worked a charm, I had to change the permission and then go to the user in ADUC then in the folder ExchangeActiveSyncDevices under the user account, delete some of the entries and mail started flowing.This was after the user tried to clean up from their OWA which didn’t work for them.
